About me
Hello visitor.
My name is Benjamin Fedder Jensen, and I am the proud owner of this here website.
I last studied MSc. Software Development & Technology at the ITU University in Copenhagen. There I have studied such interesting topics as artificial intelligence, algorithms, datamining and databases. My Masters thesis was about general AI in a game description language for strategy video games. The picture on the left is me after the exam, having achieved the highest grade! Previously I studied BSc. Medialogy at the Institute of Technology in Esbjerg, where I studied topics such as 3D graphics, film studies and animation, audio design, computer vision and human perception.
I am employed at Group IT in the Danske Bank Group as an IT developer, and I’m currently placed in the real estate finance department where I work on the real estate loan systems. Based on my interest and education in algorithms and my mathematical and analytical skills, I work mainly with programmes that perform a high level of calculations. As a part of the employment I can now of course also develop in COBOL for z/OS (IBM Mainframe), as it is the financial sector. Strangely enough, I actually enjoy the language, given that I do not have the luxury of a million helper functions as with modern languages, and thus obtain a much greater level of control and depth. (That, and DB2 binding for COBOL/DB2 is nothing short of awe inspiringly fast and secure)

I am born and raised in Esbjerg, Denmark. I moved to Roskilde, which was as close as I could come to Copenhagen at the time, to begin the studies for my MSc degree and to see what more there is to Denmark. So far I am enjoying Sealand, where a lot of my friends has moved as well for various reasons. I will almost certainly stay here on Sealand; Copenhagen is a beautiful place, with so many different cultures and attractions.
Personally I am an avid gamer, an entertainment form that have amused me greatly since childhood. I continue to play as many games as I can afford in money and time. Games have always been a very social and mentally challenging activity, unlike other mediums like television, and I take pleasure in playing and talking with the other gamers that I share the experience with. This is also what have ignited my passion, as I wish to craft these wonderfully amusing pieces of art myself one day, a feat that is much harder than I first imagined.
Other than that I enjoy films, especially cult classics, dramas, horror flicks and science fiction films, as well as role-playing games. (The good old tabletop kind, such as Dungeon and Dragons, World of Darkness and Exalted) I’m also taking an interest in theatre and the arts; I help a theatre group in Copenhagen named Dédié. I’m also starting to really enjoy the night life in Copenhagen in all its variety.

(I might also have dappled in this here thing called web development, as I of course made this website, it’s predecessors and more experiments than I care to remember – but I will not speak of such things, and not work with such things professionally)
